China MIIT Issues Methanol-powered Vehicle Promotion Policy

    Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has released “Recommendation No. 3775 on the Second Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress” at August 28, 2019. It states that MIIT subsumes Methanol-powered Vehicle Promotion Policy to “Measures on Parallel Administration of Passenger Car Enterprise Average Fuel Consumption and New-Energy Vehicle Credits”, in order to support its development, encourage enterprises to improve the manufacturing capacity of methanol-powered vehicle. The research will focus on the application of methanol / diesel combustion technology, and develop a variety of commercial methanol vehicle to meet market’s demand.
